Starting 2026 with a Bang: January at The Wag Club

Happy New Year from everyone at The Wag Club! We're thrilled to be back in full swing after the festive break, and January 2026 has already kicked off with energy, enthusiasm, and plenty of wagging tails across all our North London centres.

There's something wonderful about a fresh start, and we've loved welcoming both familiar faces and new furry friends through our doors this month. The excitement in the air is palpable, our dogs are back with their daycare pals, and our team is ready for another brilliant year of providing the best dog care in London.

Beating Blue Monday with Paw Print Art!

What an absolute triumph our paw print artwork event was! If you missed it, you truly missed something special. Across our Alexandra Palace, Muswell Hill, Golders Green, and West Hampstead locations, we transformed our centres into canine art studios, and the results were nothing short of spectacular.

Watching the dogs create their masterpieces was pure joy. Some were delicate with their paw placements, creating careful, considered patterns. Others went full abstract expressionist, enthusiastically stamping, padding, and occasionally tail-swiping their way across the canvas with wild abandon!

The variety of artwork produced was incredible, from bold, colourful splashes to surprisingly symmetrical designs, every piece was completely unique. We're not sure whether we discovered the next Picasso or Pollock, but we definitely found dozens of very talented (and very proud) canine artists.

Seeing the dogs' excitement of a job well done was heartwarming. Plus, watching owners' reactions when they collected their pup's personal masterpiece made all the careful planning worthwhile. Many of you have already shared photos of the artwork proudly displayed at home, it's brilliant to see!

A huge thank you to everyone who participated. You helped us beat Blue Monday in the most creative, fun, and utterly dog-friendly way possible. If you took part, we hope your pup's artwork has pride of place on your wall!

January: A Time for Fresh Starts

January is synonymous with new beginnings, and that applies to our four-legged friends too. We've seen lots of dogs starting or returning to regular daycare routines this month, and it's wonderful to watch them settle back into the rhythm.

Whether your dog is a daycare veteran or you're considering it for the first time this year, here's what makes The Wag Club different:

Structured fun and socialisation: Dogs are social animals, and our carefully supervised play sessions help them develop healthy relationships with other pups while burning off energy in a safe environment.

Consistency they can count on: Dogs thrive on routine. Regular daycare sessions provide structure, exercise, and mental stimulation that keeps them happy and well-balanced.

Expert care across four locations: No matter which of our North London centres is most convenient for you, you'll find the same high standards, caring staff, and commitment to making every dog's day the best it can be.

Peace of mind for you: Whether you're at work, running errands, or simply need a helping hand, knowing your dog is having fun with friends while being professionally supervised means you can get on with your day worry-free.

Winter Care Tips for Your Dog

January in North London can throw everything at us – frosty mornings, drizzly afternoons, and the occasional bright winter day. Here's how to keep your pup happy through the rest of winter:

Keep those paws protected: Road salt and grit can be harsh on sensitive paw pads. Wipe your dog's feet after walks and check between their toes for any irritation or trapped debris.

Don't skip the exercise: It's tempting to hibernate in winter, but dogs still need their daily activity. Our heated indoor play areas at The Wag Club mean your dog gets exercise and socialisation whatever the weather outside.

Watch for winter weight gain: Less outdoor time can lead to extra pounds. Keep portions consistent and ensure your dog gets adequate exercise to maintain a healthy weight.

Dry them properly: Always dry your dog thoroughly after wet walks. Damp fur can make them uncomfortably cold and increase the risk of skin issues.

Looking Ahead: Valentine's Day Event Coming in February!

Just when you thought we couldn't top the paw print art extravaganza, we've got something special planned for February!

We're hosting a Valentine's Day event across all our centres, and while we're keeping the exact details under wraps for now, we can tell you it's going to be adorable, fun, and perfectly suited to celebrating the love we have for our furry friends.

Whether your dog is loved-up with their daycare bestie or prefers to play the field, everyone's invited to join in the fun. Watch this space, full details will be announced very soon!
