New Year, New Adventures: January at The Wag Club

Happy New Year from all of us at The Wag Club! As we settle into 2025, we're kicking off the year with fresh energy, wagging tails, and something extra special to banish those January blues.

Beat the January Blues: Arts Day - 19th January

Let's be honest, January can feel a bit grey and gloomy after all the festive excitement. But not at The Wag Club! We're hosting a special Arts Day on Sunday 19th January, and your pup is invited to unleash their inner Picasso.

That's right – our dogs will be creating their very own masterpieces! Using safe, pet-friendly paints and creative techniques, each dog will get the chance to express themselves on canvas. Whether they prefer bold paw prints, enthusiastic tail swishes, or abstract splatter art, every piece will be completely unique.

This fun-filled event is happening across our Alexandra Palace, Muswell Hill, Golders Green, and West Hampstead locations, and we can't wait to see what artistic talents your dogs reveal. Who knows, you might discover you're living with the next great canine artist!

Every dog goes home with their own artwork, ready to frame and display. It's the perfect way to brighten up your January and create a lasting memory of your pup's creative genius. Plus, it makes for brilliant photos and stories to share!

Spaces are limited, so book your dog's spot for Arts Day today!

Fresh Starts and New Routines

January is traditionally a time for fresh starts, and that applies to our four-legged friends too! If you're returning to work after the holidays or simply want to establish better routines for your dog in the new year, regular daycare can be a game-changer.

At The Wag Club, we provide:

  • Structured exercise and play to keep your dog physically fit

  • Mental stimulation through activities and socialisation

  • Consistent routines that dogs thrive on

  • Professional supervision so you can focus on your day with peace of mind

Whether your dog joins us once a week or several times, they'll benefit from the structured environment, friendships with other dogs, and the expert care our team provides across all four North London locations.

Winter Wellness for Your Dog

January weather in North London can be unpredictable – frosty mornings, damp afternoons, and those occasional crisp, sunny days. Here's how to keep your dog happy and healthy through winter:

Keep them moving - Even on cold days, dogs need regular exercise. Shorter, more frequent walks can be better than one long outing in freezing temperatures. Our daycare centres provide indoor play areas where dogs can burn energy regardless of the weather outside.

Paw care matters - Salt and grit on pavements can irritate paws. Wipe your dog's feet after walks and consider paw balm for extra protection. Check between their toes for any debris or ice balls, especially if they have longer fur.

Maintain their coat - While it's tempting to let winter coats grow longer for warmth, keeping up with grooming prevents matting and helps regulate their temperature. Wet fur can make dogs feel colder, so always dry them thoroughly after walks.

Watch their weight - With less outdoor exercise and more cosy time indoors, it's easy for dogs to gain weight in winter. Keep portions consistent and ensure they're getting adequate activity: which is where The Wag Club comes in!
